Short and sweet introduction to microcontrollers, specifically ATMEGA series from ATMEL
If you know even a little bit about Microprocessors, you must be aware of what it can do and what we can program it to do. But a Microprocessor, by itself is nothing, it needs memory, peripheral interfaces, timers, counters, storage etc to operate. This whole setup is known as Microcomputer.
Now, for certain applications, we need programmable control but we can't setup a microcomputer for a single application, so, a miniaturized Microcomputer integrated onto a single chip IC was developed that is used in such dedicated systems and it is popularly known as Micro-controller(uC in short) and these systems are known as Embedded Systems.
These uC have inbuilt I/O Ports, Timers, Counters, Analog-to-Digital Converters, UART (Asynchronous Serial Data interface ), SPI Line, Flash memory, RAM, etc. All these parts of the uC can be accessed or used in our system by programming the control words onto the Dedicated Registers inbuilt in the uC.
There are a lot of companies manufacturing micro-controllers these days. The most popular of them among hobbyists being from ATMEL Corp., these are
1. 89C51/52 etc - Having 8051 core

They have limited ports, limited flash memory to store our program, limited RAM to run it and limited peripherals to perform advanced tasks.
2. ATMEGA16/32/128 etc. - Having AVR core.

They have adequate RAM, Flash, peripherals, I/P ports to perform almost all intermediately advanced tasks.
With appropriate Integrated Development Environment (IDE), we can program uC as per our requirement in any programming language we wish to. The thing is that we must have a supporting compiler, linker and flashing utility for our uC. The most popular and supported language are
1. Assembly Language - Being a low level language, is slightly tough to learn but is more powerful as we work at bit n byte level.
2. 'C' language - A high level language with better constructs and easy to learn, it has now almost replaced Assembly language except in certain exceptional cases. C language is more supported by various IDEs namely, WinAVR, AVR Studio, Eclipse etc.
This is all for now, we'll be taking each uC one by one and do the case study with practical examples in following posts.

How to check for basic SQL injection vulnerability in a web application...
With all the new applications being built on the web platform and their overt dependence on database systems, there are a few security accessories that need to be attached to these Web Applications to secure them from hackers and other persons with malicious intent.
Here, I'm telling you a simple test to check your web applications against the most common vulnerability (Almost 60% are vulnerable) associated with web applications using database systems, and that is SQL INJECTION VULNERABILITY.
As the name suggests(or does not suggest), a hacker performs an attack by injecting SQL statements into inputs considered as the legitimate inputs. These inputs if left unfiltered and are sent to the DBMS, a hacker can do anything with your data.
A simple test is given here...,
Step 1> Open the web application you want to test, suppose a login page appears..
Step 2> Now type this in the username

Step 2> Now type this in the username' or 1=1 --
OR
' or 1=1 #
OR
' or 1=1 #
and type anything in password field and click login/signin etc.
Now, if you see a screen telling you that you are authenticated or authorised, then this application/site is vulnerable to SQL injection. If not try putting the same string in password field also.
How does it work??
To authenticate a user the username and password are fed into the DBMS like this
SELECT username, passwd FROM TBLOGIN WHERE username = '$username' AND passwd = '$passwd'
and if it returns a record, user is authenticated.
where $username and $passwd are the unfiltered inputs by the user. This works fine as long as legitimate users are using the app. But once u enter these strings, upon replacing variables in the SQL Statement with input data, the statement becomes somewhat like this
SELECT username, passwd FROM TBLOGIN WHERE username =' ' or 1=1 --' AND passwd = 'random_keys'
Now, DBMS interprets the statement until -- in case of MS SQL server and until # in case of MySQL server as these are the single line comment identifiers, that is the DBMS takes the rest of the line meaningless as a comment.
The actual interpreted statement becomes
SELECT username, passwd FROM TBLOGIN WHERE username =' ' or 1=1
Which always returns a record as 1 is always equal to 1.
Note: This is the simplest of all the tests on SQL injection. If your app passes this test, it doesn't guarantee safety of your application. Now that you have understood it, you can experiment with your own applications with various other combinations of strings or numbers.
Now, the Cure section
As an Ethical Hacker it is my responsibility to spread awareness about vulnerabilities, so here's how to minimize the risk of SQL Injection:
1. At the application level:
a) Always filter out the special characters from the user given input before any other processing until and unless specifically required.
b) Put maximum and minimum character limits on the input strings.
c) Never pass the input variables directly as arguments, use parameter/other objects built in the languages that check n verify data type/ validity etc.
2. At the database level:
a) Grant only those privileges to a user that it is intended to perform such as a user who needs to read the data must be granted select privileges only just in case he is compromised he can do little damage.
b) Create separate users for different operations like delete, drop, update, select etc.
c) Create table, database and column names that are not very common and can't be guessed easily.
These are some basic steps to secure your applications. There are now some DBMS which offer built-in attack detection.

Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Society
Hello frnds,
Welcome back, I am up again after a while to inform you about the my new endeavour. After completing my 3 yrs Engg. Diploma I have joined Krishna institute of engineering and technology for pursuing B. Tech with Computer Science and engineering, here , I met Mr. Amit , also pursuing B. Tech from the same institute , I got to know from him about their Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Society, this is a society of students of KIET who are interested in Robotics and related work. I , being an old fan of electronics and robotics informed him about my interest and he keenly approved my membership to the AIRS .
I came to know that AIRS doesn't have its website and offered my help in this regard, thus engaging myself to this endeavour , I created ful fledged portal for our own Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Society that is http://www.theairs.com , so come have a visit , sign up to the forums and have a glimpse of our society !
Thanks and Regards,
Amit Mishra

I'm on google search engine .. . .
Hello friends,
I have got something to tell all of you, finally after lots of efforts and reading lots of books and articles about Search Engine Optimisation ( अपनी वेबसाइट को सर्च इंजन के लिए उपयुक्त बनाना ) , I have got my website http://earnurworth.8tt.org/ listed on the google.com search engine you just search "earnurworth amit mishra" and there you find my website , now it feels great to see that my work has been seen and listed. Thanks to all the books and thanks to google and a lots of thanks to my readers....
Also my blog thats http://amitmishracs.blogspot.com has been listed on google that I was waiting for a month,

Also my blog thats http://amitmishracs.blogspot.com has been listed on google that I was waiting for a month,

Want to use internet in hindi , see this ??
Welcome friends, I was just wondering that can we surf the internet इन our native language that is हिन्दी ,

Although all of them promise you that you can send free sms to india through their site but I found out that they are using some kind of catch to lure customers like us in their boring schemes now what the most of them are doing is they just use a bulk sms provider's service and use their API (Application Programming Interface) to enable their websites to send sms ,
At user end they force us to register ourself as their member before we can send any sms from their website....,
but let me tell you that they do provide this service for free but they aren't getting these service for free,
So the questio arises that then how do they earn the money they spend for the sms we send through their website....,
I reviewed each of the sites and found that they all (most of them) only allow you to send a fraction of the standard 160 character sms, what they do with the rest of the part is that they send send advertisements posted by another kind of users at their site known as advertisers.. who pay them for each advertisement they send.
So the final sms that reaches the mobile phone is
[Final SMS] = [free user message] + [Advertisers message] = 160 characters
Conclusion:
Now I tried to get the best of them to use and I found these really useful:
www.mycantos.com
www.160by2.com
www.indyarocks.com (has many more things , can be compared to orkut)
BTW, you can visit my website for many online money making offers , just go to the http://earnurworth.8tt.org/offers.htm and click on the first offer now create a free offer on that site and start earning money online.....

Are you a victim of hacking, or making someone the same????
This article says that a computer hacker can turn your computer into a bomb remotely (Without getting in physical touch of the computer), but let me tell you it is absolutely false and fictious as our computer don't have any explosive parts or componentes. But yes, if you talk about a logical bomb then yes the Mighty Hackers may compromise your computer and use it to deploy attacks or perform attacks to any other remote machine connected to you and they will think and find that the attack has been performed from your own pc.
And guess what I, Amit Mishra , have got many a readymade tools and some custom tools that I have developed using Network Programming in C# that can perform such operations.
Listen, there's absolutely no need to panic at all, since a little bit of carefulness and activeness adopted by us can prevent us from being or making someone a victim of hacking.
There are basically following steps for Windows users to ensure your total security from hackers:
- First, never , never run an executable file(a file having an .exe, .com, .bat, .vbs extensions) that you don't know where does it come from, what it does , what's its use.
- Second , you must have a firewall software installed on your system, windows XP and Windows vista have this utility in built and check its configuration of exceptions (those softwares that are allowed to use network or internet). If you find any suspicious entries in exceptions then immediately remove that.
- In Windows XP, you can check firewall settings by opening the "Windows Firewall" setting in Control Panel.
